Feed Your Neighbor receives grant
Toledo Area ministries is pleased to announce the receipt of the Episcopal
Community Services grant award in the amount of $2,179.00 for our Feed Your
Neighbor ministry. We also wish to thank all of the Toledo area Episcopal
congregations for their contributions to FYN in the form of volunteer time
and talents at one of our 12 food pantries, food including fresh fruits and
veggies from their community gardens and of course, financial donations.
Through these generous gifts and many others, FYN was able to supply enough
ingredients for nine meals per person for an estimated 83,170 people in
2010!
God continues to bless FYN's efforts to keep food on our pantry
shelves for those who are hungry!
Time to get ready for Feed 5000, 2011!
Epworth United Methodist Church and Toledo Area Ministries are excited to
again sponsor this year's Project Feed 5000! All churches and individuals in
the area are encouraged to participate.
This project is designed to help feed many of the hungry men, women and
children in the Toledo area who need our help.
Starting March 21st, empty boxes and instructions will be available for pick
up at Epworth United Methodist Church, 3077 Valley View Drive, Toledo (419-531-4236). Please call in advance of pick up. We are inviting you to
take the boxes home and return them filled with the food according to the
instructions. This includes food items that will feed a family of four for
two days. The approximate cost to purchase and fill the box is $30.
The filled boxes need to be returned to Epworth on Sundays, March 27 to May
1, 2011 where a Project Feed 5000 truck or van will be at the church
entrance on Valley View to collect them. The food collected will be given to
TAM Feed Your Neighbor ministry.
We are very excited about providing this opportunity for members of your
church and the community. As in the example that Jesus gave us, let us
strive to feed 5000 hungry people in our community through PROJECT FEED
5000.
