Join the Wholesale Food Co-op!
As an alternative to buying or receiving donations from several different merchants to stock food pantry shelves, the Wholesale Food Club takes the leg work out of finding good food prices. Co-op workers compare prices from all the major suppliers, find the best retail value for each item, and buy it in bulk to be re-sold to various food pantries throughout the Toledo area. Right now, only larger organizations can apply to be members, but as the project progresses, there is hope of expanding out to smaller groups. The cost to be a member is $25 per month which pays solely for maintenance and utility costs to the building. Orders are placed the first and third week of every month, and pick-up times are the second and fourth of the month. Contact the main TAM office today about joining!
Current Needs:
- Equipment:
A box truck with fairly low miles is needed. This will help us transport food to our various pantries.
- Food:
We can always use non-perishable food items, such as crackers, cereal, peanut butter etc.
- Donations:
We are praying that you
can help us with the items we need donated. All items donated
to us are tax deductible. The TAM Feed Your Neighbor ministry
is in need of the
following and must be in good working condition:
- Truck (½ ton or 1 ton)
- Steel shelving units
- Office Fax machine
- Office Copier
- Upright or Chest freezers
- Cleaning Supplies
- 6 ft. or 8-ft folding tables
- 6 ft. or 8 ft. table cloths
- Vacuum Cleaner
- Computer Equipment and stands
During the next year the Feed
Your Neighbor sites will be transitioning their intake
process to a new online computer program. This will allow us
to collect more accurate statistics. We are looking for individuals
or groups to pay for sponsorships of internet connection services
for the TAM Feed Your Neighbor sites. The estimated cost per
site is $50.00. If you are interested in donating or sponsoring
a site feel free to contact Donnajean Stockmaster at 419-242-7401 ext. 145.
All donations can be sent to 3043 Monroe Street, Toledo, OH 43606. Please specify that the gift is for Feed Your Neighbor Ministry.
